So you think you KNOW

So you think you KNOW how to run a business…As we talked about this yesterday in my blog attracting new clients requires knowledge of what you do.

I think it comes back to what a mentor of mine (Marc Bluestone) said, “Some people have no idea what to do.  Some people know what to do, yet don’t do it.  Some people know what to do & do it, but without consistency.
It just comes down to knowing what to do, doing it, & doing it with consistency everyday!

You can be successful by understanding that running your business requires you to do many things, do them well, and with consistency.  So take a few minutes, write down what you know how to do, what you can delegate so it looks like you know how to do it & where you might improve!

The process of attracting new clients resonates back to you, your look, your personality, your Character CodeTM,  your speech, your listening, and your tenacity to do what you know consistently everyday.

As you change your thought process, you allow yourself to channel your energy in the direction of success in attracting your ideal client so that they come walking in the door!

Are you using a crystal ball?

Are you finding your new clients via a crystal ball?  Somedays it sures feels like that, doesn’t it?  I’ve been learning from Brandy Mychals all about Client Attraction & it has really got me to thinking.  How do I attract new clients?  Am I using my Ouija board or my crystal ball or waiting for them to find me?
When I owned my Frame Shop, I taught a class about “How to Get More Customers.”  So I went & dug out my class materials so that I could put them back into use.  Sometimes we just need reminders that we do know what we are doing!  That way we can get back on track.  Although, sometimes I have to admit I do like those squirrel moments!
Sometimes we think running a business should be a piece of cake, open the doors & customers will flock on in!  NOT!  Even if we love what we do, it still takes good old hard WORK!
You need to KNOW what to do, so Knowledge.  You then need to make a COMMITMENT.  (You noticed I didn’t say commit to it…)  Then you need to have the TENACITY to stick to it for the long haul.  So you say, what does this have to do with attracting more clients?  (Stay tuned for tomorrow!)

Is Dress Up Just for Kids?

My grandgirls just love dressing up! So, what are you dressing up in today? Are you going networking, partying, meeting a new client, just out & about? When you are going out for business reasons, always dress the part. Try to dress up just a notch above what you think your client will be wearing. And of course, make sure you are wearing or carrying something with your logo/branding on it!

Just think of how many times you catch yourself reading the cereal box at breakfast! When you really pay attention, you will find yourself reading shirts, bags, boxes, you name it as it walks by. Branding yourself just like Nike doesn’t happen by chance.

It takes strategically thinking & applying it to your business model. Whether it be embroidery on a nice dress shirt, briefcase, tote bag, client gift, or screenprinted for more casual/business attire, it’s your logo that you should be wearing. Every impression with wearing branded apparel or when you give clients that logo’d coffee mug is just like clicking “like” on facebook. And everytime you blog, comment, or click “like” your ratings climb, so dream BIG, you just never know will it will land you! Happy climbing!

Of course I can!

Have you ever thought, “I can do it myself!” Yes, I have been there! For too many years I thought I had to do it all myself! Payroll, accounting, hiring, firing, training, designing, production, on & on…I certainly couldn’t afford it & of course, I know that when I do it, it comes out right! Ever been there?

We all know what it feels like, trying to keep all the plates in the air. We also know what it feels like when one of those plates comes crashing down!

So I’ve come to believe in a few rules from Jack Canfield:

#1 Do it—If it takes 10 minutes or less, get it done!

#2 Delegate it—Let someone else be responsible for it! That’s why they are the experts! Accountants, gardeners, consultants, housekeepers (I’m in for this one!), how about a personal chef? It’s taken me years to get here, so make your learning curve shorter!

#3 Delay it—Set up a filing system for the days of the month & put in each folder the “to do list” for that day! Yea, it’s off the desk!

#4 Dump it—How many times have you thought, I’ll get around to reading that article, magazine, doing that project?? I get trade magazines, about 3 every month, they add up quickly, so the other day I dumped about 20 of them! What was I thinking keeping them in a pile to drive me crazy….& I am crazy enough, just ask my husband…LOL

Wow, how things have changed!

Wow, how things have changed!! I am going to get into this "blogging" thing yet!
To start with, my partner & daughter, Carrie, is no longer with Ink It Up Designs. She is off finishing her PhD in Clinical Psychology! She is almost finished, yea!
So that leaves just me, D'Ann, to be the creative mogul of Ink It Up! And having fun doing it!
In the last few months, we have added Sheryl Beckett to our sales team & are so enjoying seeing her making new friends out & about!
We have added our business consulting/coaching to our business as well. It certainly helps knowing who you are talking to as you use our Character Code System to help you market yourself and your business.
So when you need marketing pizazz, just call the Inky gals!
